Getting Started

Welcome to the Deltix Universe Configurator, a powerful web-based platform designed to help you configure and manage your trading environment. This section will guide you through the basics of system access, interface navigation, and essential features to help you get started quickly.

Accessing the Platform

Getting access to the platform is simple:

1. Launch your preferred web browser
2. Visit the URL provided in your welcome email or by Deltix Support
3. Sign in using your credentials (either self-configured or provided by your administrator)

The Deltix Universe Configurator works best with the latest version of any of these browsers:

Interface Overview

The interface of the Deltix Universe Configurator features four main components:

1. Navigation Sidebar: A navigation menu providing easy access to:

   • Securities page
   • Data Connectors page
   • Trade Connectors page
   • Balance Readers page
   • Preferences page

   You will also find your system status, username, and logout button here.

2. Services Menu: A convenient button in the top-right corner for quick service management.

3. Version Info: Displays your current software version at the bottom of the screen.

4. Main Content Area: Your primary workspace where you will configure and manage settings. The content here updates automatically based on your sidebar selection.

Navigation Sidebar

The sidebar not only serves as a navigation, but also includes crucial tools for monitoring and managing the system's operational status.

Services Status Indicator

The Services Status Indicator displays the current state of all system services:

• Active: Service is operational.
• Restarting: Service is in the process of rebooting.
• Failed: Service has encountered issues and require attention.

Restart Services

The Restart Services button, located in the sidebar, allows you to reinitialize system services.

Use this button to apply configuration changes and refresh the system without leaving the current page. Clicking the button triggers a service reboot to ensure all recent changes are implemented. A visual indicator will notify you when a restart is necessary.

Setting Up Your Trading System

To set up your trading system using the Deltix Universe Configurator, follow these steps:

1. Configuration of Securities: From the navigation sidebar, navigate to the Securities page. This is where you will define the trading instruments for your strategies. You can add new instruments, specify their properties, and ensure they are aligned with your trading goals.
2. Configuration of Data Connectors: Once your instruments are defined, the next step is to establish connections for fetching market data from your chosen exchanges. Navigate to the Data Connectors page for this.
3. Configuration of Trade Connectors: The Trade Connectors page is where you set up the means for sending order requests and handling responses.
4. Configuration of Balance Readers: Navigate to the Balance Readers page to set up the tools for monitoring and managing your account balances and positions across different exchanges.
